10 Corso Como

10 Corso Como is a concept store featuring a contemporary art gallery, book shop, garden cafe and terrace bar, a boutique hotel and a clothing store.

One stop Milanese style from head to toe, inside and out at 10 Corso Como.

If design, industry and fashion are what make Milan, then 10 Corso Como is the very definition of Milanese spirit. This incredible concept store is both an ethos and a place, a ‘union of culture and commerce’. Opened in 1990 by former fashion editor and art lover Carla Sozzani, sister of Franca, well known editor in chief of Vogue Italia, 10 Corso Como began by converting an industrial building to a space featuring a contemporary art gallery (Galleria Carla Sozzani), book shop, garden cafe and terrace bar, a boutique hotel and a clothing store. Not sparing any detail, the 10 Corso Como brand and style is whimsical, colourful, contemporary and completely unique.

The clothing store is a live fashion installation, featuring a carefully selected range of international luxury brands which reflect the style of 10 Corso Como. Stella McCartney, Azzedine Alaia, Maison Martin Margiela and Vivienne Westwood and more rub shoulders in the light filled display floor, giving the feeling that one is lost in designer wonderland. Cutting edge jewellery brands, lighting fixtures  and fanciful interior design objects beg to be purchased, cleverly displayed to enhance the store concept and the desire to take home part of that world. If artful tombs are more your thing, pop into the bookstore to find a huge array of fantastic titles. Design, art, architecture and music are the speciality of the store, plus a strong focus on photography. The careful layout of the shop and ease of accessibility certainly encourages browsing, it would be very easy to loose hours while exploring the endless choices of books and knick knacks.

If all the shopping becomes tiresome, chill in the garden cafe or check out the gallery space. The regularly changing photography exhibitions are a feat for 10 Corso Como, often curating shows of photographers exhibiting in Italy for the first time.

Distilling the essence of Milan under one roof might seem like an impossible idea, but 10 Corso Como is just that. Quality plus the cutting edge has been what Milan has been synonymous with  for years, add in a touch of whimsy and you get 10 Corso Como- true Italian style.
